Dice to die for

Dice Crawler is a pen-and-paper dungeon crawler where you build dungeons by literally dropping dice on a sheet of paper. Those dice then become the rooms you’ll explore, the loot you’ll claim, and the monsters standing in your way.

Each die is a room. To claim the die, you first have to survive what’s inside: roll that same die on the encounter table. Win the fight, and the die goes into your loot bag. At the end of the crawl, you’ll roll your collected dice on the universal loot table.

Bigger dice, bigger risks. Bigger risks, bigger rewards.

Example: drop a D8. To take it, you must face its encounter by rolling the D8 on the enemy table. Beat it, and you’ll be able to roll up to 8 on the loot table. But if you want the juicy D20 rewards, you’ll have to risk whatever horror comes with it...

Fast, brutal & deadly combat

Combat is intended to be brutal and deadly. Characters need to make good use of their loot, as certain items can directly influence the outcome of a fight.

Dying is also part of the game, since your next character can return to the place where the previous one fell in order to recover their gear.

A zine-game for dice collectors

The game will be available as an A5 leaflet containing the basic rules and character creation. Additional content will be available as thematic 8-fold PocketMod-style zines. The idea behind this format is to let anyone easily create their own sets of encounters, rooms, traps, to hack the system. 

The beta release will include:

• A5 12 pages rulebook

• one Encounter zine,

• one Dungeon zine (with rooms, traps, and unique loot),

• one Loot zine to upgrade your gear
